Vaccinations for Africa

Vaccinations are one of those things that many people tend to dread. I, on the other hand, seem to enjoy watching this fascinating event. Although it can be painful, it's still awesome to know that my body is preparing for future battles that probably will occur. So hears the final score: 5 vaccinations over the period of two days. Thankfully I had nearly three weeks between the first doctor visit and the second. But the first day I received four, yes that's right, four shots! I ended up pittying myself in the end and bought a lot of food that day. I think my stomach ached more than my arms come to think of it.

Tracking back to the point, I am happy to report that I am now medically ready for my trip to Africa! I've been prescribed anti-malaria pills and am picking them up later today. I was told not to travel below 2,500 Meters while in Africa. Like that will happen... I'm going to travel wherever God wants me to. It was kind of hard to explain that to the doctor. At any rate, everything is falling into place and I am working hard to finish school. As some may know, we've been working on ProLife Commercials for Middle East TV. Our GFX supervisor has been going a bit crazy staring at the same computer screen for hours and hours, so we called for some external sources for help. Thanks be to room mates who are skilled in graphics and staring at computers for long periods of time...

Right...So at any rate...The funds for the trip are trickling in slowly. I have enough for half a year in Africa, but my vision is to work as a missionary for a full year. It's been amazing to see how God has brought me this far in my fundraising campaign, which I have cleverly named the "Gideon Challenge". Okay, maybe not so cleaver... But it really is happening. When I first heard the amount of funds I needed to raise, I laughed and doubted God, but He spoke to me and I listened. If we don't have a healthy challenge in life, well...it's hard to tell if we're growing. So I challenge you to consider being a part of my support team. Some have already given graciously, and I sincerely thank you. It is such an exciting life that we live as the servants of Christ. Together, lets join in doing the Lord's work as his faithful servants. May the Lord richly bless and guide you!

"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from you mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:7-8

Africa Update!

The Lord has been so good to me. I want to thank everyone for your prayer and support. It has been an honor and privilege to know you and continue together in the fight for winning souls to Christ. I apologize for the late updates; however, we are in the middle of heavy production and nearing the end of school. The whole class has been partitioned into groups working on pro life commercials, and we will soon begin production on our final project. I've been assigned to produce/direct the pro life commercial and storyboard for the short film. It has been a lot of work and great learning experience!

Aside from all this production, I wanted to update you on my financial status. Here is where I stand as of now:

Raised: $7095
Needed: $12,905
Deadline: June 7, 2012

25% of my budget can be in monthly pledges. This means, by June 7th, I need $9678.75 in office and the remaining, $3,226.25 can come in along the way monthly...

I've extended my stay in Israel to July 19th, 2012. Africa Inland Mission requires that I raise all funding six weeks prior to my departure. With prayer and faith, I know that the Lord is more than capable in sending me. If you would like to contribute for my mission, you can send funds through my blog (click "donate") or to the address posted in this email. I thank you so much for all your prayers and support. Together we can bring the gospel to the nations!
